I recently spent 12 glorious days in Turks and Caicos ending with stays at sister properties The Palms and The Shore Club. The water is clear and turquoise and the sand is soft and thick. Not only does this island boast gorgeous beaches, but it is also the perfect island for families. There are very few standard hotels and resorts here. What you find in Turks & Caicos are individually owned condos managed as a resort. Many families want the amenities of a resort and the space of a vacation rental, and Turks and Caicos solves this dilemma by offering multiple resorts full of condos that are furnished and decorated with a standard package so that guests get a quality experience no matter which unit they are assigned to. It is a genius concept and what really sets Turks and Caicos apart.
I was invited to attend an educational trip with my rep from The Palms and The Shore Club. I decided to go for extra credit by going a week early with my family and exploring more of the island than what my 4 day educational trip would allow me to do. We explored multiple resorts and ate at multiple restaurants ending our trip at Hemingway’s on the beach which is part of The Sands at Grace Bay which is owned by the same parent company as The Palms and The Shore Club.
I will write additional posts about The Shore Club and my family’s time in Turks and Caicos, but this post is about The Palms Turks and Caicos.
The Palms Turks and Caicos
The Palms Turks and Caicos is located on Grace Bay Beach which is simply stunning. This 72-suite resort ensures that you know you are in the Caribbean while also providing high-end amenities that allow you to be pampered on vacation.
Let’s start with the room. Some people say the room doesn’t matter because they don’t plan to spend much time in the room. I don’t care what people say – ROOMS MATTER! Look at the gorgeous suite I am staying in here …
Most suites feature full kitchens with Viking appliances and a washer/dryer; many overlook the ocean. My suite was perched above the pool and shaded gorgeous by palm fronds (it is The Palms after all!) which served as a perfect spot for catching up on work after being on vacation the previous week.
- Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability (excludes upgrades from Junior Suite category)
- Full American Breakfast daily for all guests served at The Garden from 7:00am – 10:30am
- $100 USD Equivalent Resort/Hotel credit, to be utilized during stay (not combinable, not valid on room rate, no cash value if not redeemed in full)
- Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
The Palms is currently offering a 20% off promotion for summer & fall bookings.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
I really want to repay The Palms & The Shore Club for their hospitality by booking someone at their property ASAP.
Thus, Explore More will add a complimentary concierge service (a $100 value) to any booking made by July 15, 2022 to ensure you experience the best of the island. Concierge service means we arrange your restaurant, spa, and excursion appointments on your behalf.
Ok, now back to our regularly scheduled programming … let me tell you about the way The Palms elevated our experience.
Elevated Experiences at The Palms Turks and Caicos
On our first night there, we enjoyed a cocktail class on the beach boardwalk.
After preparing our cocktails, we took a few steps, took off our shoes, and put our toes in the sand for this gorgeous sunset dinner. You can watch this video I created of our dinner experience HERE.
Dining at The Palms Turks and Caicos
Honestly, I could include dining under elevated experiences because that it absolutely was!
Each morning began in The Garden where I was treated to fresh squeezed OJ, made to order omelettes, bacon, sausage, grits, fruit, pancakes, waffles, pastries (oh, the pastries!), and more.
I am a pastry girl, so I was very pleased to learn that their pastry chef was ranked the top in the Caribbean. He made the below cigar dessert for us – can you believe that presentation?! And how fun is it to receive amuse-bouche?! Let me also note that I am pretty sure I will never receive another Ceasar salad like this one.
While our group was treated to dinner on the beach (which I can help you arrange), you can also eat very close to the beach at 72°West. It has a family-friendly, Caribbean-inspired menu. With fire pits and comfortable couches for lounging, 72°West is a popular place to spend evenings under the stars.
The photos above are from our meal at Paralell 23 which has a more formal ambiance but is not stuffy. We dined on its stunning terrace. And don’t get me started on the surf and turf – I normally don’t order steak but it is kind of their thing at Parallel23 and I love scallops so I kind of had to order it and am so glad I did!!!
Suffice to say, I had an absolutely fabulous stay at The Palms Turks and Caicos. While I can not wait to go back, I am also so excited to send clients! If I can help you with your Turks and Caicos travels, please reach out. I learned a lot on my recent trip and am ready to help you plan the perfect Turks and Caicos getaway!
